Stuart Carrington continues English Open charge with final-frame win over Rod Lawler



GRIMSBY potter Stuart Carrington edged through to Round Three of the English Open with a tense, final-frame victory today.
Having disposed of former world champion Peter Ebdon in the first round, the Cue World pro was a 4-3 winner against Rod Lawler.
Carrington ran in breaks of 82, 84 and 89 at Event City – in Manchester – but he was made to work hard by his experienced opponent.
The 25-year-old raced into a 2-0 lead. He barely gave Lawler a sniff in the opener, before taking a much closer second frame.
