Struggling mum with ill child sentenced after fiddling over £51,000 in benefits



A struggling mum with an ill child fiddled more than £51,000 in benefits over a six-year period.
Jody Callaghan, 25 - said to be a victim of domestic violence and mother of a child needing constant supervision - was taken to court for wrongly claiming three forms of benefits between 2009 and 2015.
She started claiming income support legitimately as a lone parent of two children, declaring child benefits, child tax credits and small maintenance sums from the father.
