Stoke-on-Trent councillors demand to know how £600k leisure and culture savings will be made



Councillors are demanding to know how £600,000 of savings will be made – now that plans to off-load museums and leisure centres have been dropped.
Stoke-on-Trent City Council had been looking to transfer its culture and leisure services to a trust or community interest company as part of budget savings.
But council leaders have now abandoned the plans in favour of keeping all the services in-house – largely due to changes in national policy meaning the savings would not be achieved.
