Special meeting called to decide fate of arrested council chief Ged Fitzgerald



A special meeting has been arranged that will decide the future of Ged Fitzgerald - Liverpool City Council’s arrested chief executive.
Mr Fitzgerald is currently away from the council after being arrested in May on suspicion of conspiring to pervert the course of justice and witness intimidation as part of a probe by Lancashire Police.
Mr Fitzgerald has not been suspended and is not at work on a voluntary basis, but he has been ordered to attend a meeting of the authority’s Appointments and Disciplinary Panel at the Liverpool Town Hall next Monday.
