Spanish City Dome: See pictures of first stage of landmark's restoration
 

The first major milestone has been reached in the restoration of the Spanish City Dome - just a week after work started on the seafront landmark.
Specialist workers from building firm Robertson Construction have been on site in Whitley Bay carrying out renovations .
And they have already removed the first floor ceiling, which was installed shortly after the dome was built in 1910. This means visitors will now be able to look straight up and see the magnificent rotunda in all its splendour.
