Southampton 1-0 Liverpool: Nathan Redmond strike earns Saints a deserved advantage in EFL Cup semi-final as Daniel Sturridge and Co fail to shine



Southampton will take a slender advantage into the EFL Cup semi-final second leg thanks to Nathan Redmond's first-half strike at St Mary's.
Liverpool were largely ineffective as only goalkeeper Loris Karius stood between Redmond, who had an exceptional game, and more goals.
Jurgen Klopp's men failed to cut out any chances of note in the second half while Redmond hit the crossbar in extra time.
