South Yorkshire police chief launches legal bid against call for him to resign
South Yorkshire’s suspended chief constable David Crompton has reportedly to have launched a legal bid against the police boss who called for his exit.
Mr Crompton - suspended over comments following the Hillsborough inquest verdicts - is understood to have applied for a Judicial Review into the actions of police and crime commissioner Dr Alan Billings.
The news came as it was confirmed Mr Crompton officially handed in his resignation at the end of September.
