South Shields driver who killed Lewis Knapp in hit-and-run while high on cocaine and booze is jailed
 

A driver who killed a young man in a hit-and-run while on a cocktail of drink and drugs has been jailed for four-and-a-half years.
Connor Emms, 21, was driving more than double the 30mph speed limit after he had consumed cocaine and vodka when he hit Lewis Knapp.
Newcastle Crown Court heard Mr Knapp had been out socialising in South Shields with his girlfriend, Caitlyn Hardy, and their friends on April 15 last year.
While walking along Anderson Street, Mr Knapp had a “falling out” with one of his pals and veered off into the centre of the road.
