South Africa captain AB De Villiers out of Australia series and now facing surgery on injured elbow

South Africa captain AB De Villiers has been ruled out of the one-day international and Test series against Australia after failing to recover from an elbow injury.
De Villiers is to have surgery on his left elbow after failing a fitness test on Tuesday ahead of the five-match ODI home series which starts on Friday at Centurion.
The 32-year-old, who hasn't played for two months, had not shown enough recovery from the impingement syndrome injury that is afflicting his left elbow.
