Some parents refuse to cross Unison picket line in support of striking Derby teaching assistants
 

Some parents refused to cross a Unison picket line outside a Derby school in support of striking teaching assistants this morning.
The staff are striking for the fourth time since the start of September over a dispute with Derby City Council, which has seen the pay of many if them cut by 25%.
MORE ON THIS DISPUTE: Derby teaching assistants have planned strikes up to CHRISTMAS At least two schools in the city are closed and more than 20 others will be sending youngsters home at lunchtime because there are no staff to look after them.
