Soldier charged with murder of Gateshead woman Alice Ruggles appears in court
 

A soldier charged with the murder of 24-year-old Alice Ruggles has made his first appearance in front of a judge.
Lance Corporal Trimaan Dhillon, of the Royal Regiment of Scotland, appeared via video link for a brief hearing at Newcastle Crown Court on Tuesday morning.
The 25-year-old, also known as Harry Dhillon and from Glencorse Barracks in Penicuik, Midlothian, Scotland, spoke only to confirm his name and that he could hear proceedings.
