A jilted husband battered his love rival to death with a wheel brace after finding him at his family home.
Steven Cotterill struck Matthew Charnock after returning from work to discover him leaving the Widnes property he shared with his wife.
A jury today found Cotterill guilty of manslaughter - returning a unanimous verdict after a three week trial.
During the case prosecutors alleged 39-year-old Cotterill had struck Mr Charnock at least twice to the head with the wheel brace after finding him trying to leave his Brinton Close home.
