SNP councillors block cycle path that flies against party's transport policy
 

SNP councillors have blocked a cycle path project in spite of their party’s active transport strategy.
The Bears Way was set to link up a key route used by thousands of commuters from Milngavie to nearby Glasgow.
It would have played a major role in helping the Scottish Government achieve their target of one in 10 journeys being made by bike by 2020.
But in a blow for Transport Secretary Humza Yousaf, the East Dunbartonshire Council scheme has been halted by his own party’s councillors.
