Slimmer: ‘Recovering from brain surgery spurred me on to lose weight’

Melanie Cooke blames her weight gain partially on having to take steroids for a medical condition. But when she was sent for a second opinion, it was discovered that she did not need them and she was instead diagnosed with Moyamoya disease.
This rare brain condition constricts the arteries in the back of her head, causing a lack of blood flow to her brain.
