Six things you might not know about Huyton barracks on its 60th anniversary
 

The Alamein Barracks marks its 60th anniversary today with a rededication ceremony attended by Lord Derby Edward Stanley.
The army reserve centre is based on Liverpool Road and has been a part of the Huyton community since it opened on October 7, 1956.
It was officially opened by the Earl of Derby, Edward Stanley. A number of different army regiments have served at the barracks over the last 60 years and it now houses a signal squadron.
