Six passengers injured after bus suddenly brakes in Newcastle city centre
 

Six people were injured when a bus driver was forced to brake suddenly in Newcastle city centre.
At around 10.38am on Monday morning, as the bus drove along Blackett Street at Old Eldon Square, the driver made a sudden stop.
A number of people were left injured after being lurched forward.
Police closed the road briefly while paramedics treated those involved.
The North East Ambulance Service sent a rapid response car, two ambulances, a hazardous area response team and an officer to the scene after being called at 10.41am.
