Sir Philip Green has revealed he had heart surgery just six days before he gave evidence to a Commons inquiry.
The tycoon said doctors fitted him with a stent – a tube that keeps arteries open to reduce the risk of a heart attack – in early June.
It came ahead of his appearance at the Work and Pensions Select Committee, co-chaired by MP Frank Field, over BHS ’s collapse.
His revelation comes before tomorrow’s Commons vote on whether he should lose his knighthood.
