Sidney Kilmartin facing life in jail for killing Hull man Andrew Denton in 'suicide scam'



A US man who styled himself as an "angel of mercy" is facing a life sentence after being convicted of posting cyanide to an east Hull man.
Sidney Kilmartin, 54, sent the drug to 49-year-old Andrew Denton, who was found dead at his home in Holland Street on New Year's Eve in 2012.
Police say Kilmartin sent a substance he said was cyanide, but was actually Epsom salts, to several suicidal people as part of a 'suicide scam'. Prosecutors said Kilmartin wanted to stop Mr Denton reporting the fraud so sent him cyanide instead.
