Shocking pictures show devastation after Woolton convent blaze
 

These pictures show the total devastation left at a Grade II-listed building destroyed by a blaze in Woolton.
Firefighters tackled the fire for around eight hours at the former St Gabriel’s Convent school on Church Road. A local man alerted crews just after 6.30am this morning.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue’s investigation team said the cause of the fire was unknown and the team were unable to investigate the building thoroughly due to structural safety concerns.
John Roy, whose home backs on to St Gabriel’s, watched the top floor of the building collapse.
