Sheffield United fan admits assaulting man in Cleethorpes



A TROUBLEMAKER arrested on the day of tensions between rival Grimsby Town and Sheffield United football fans has appeared in court.
Sheffield United supporter Perry Smith, 30, admitted assaulting an unknown male on July 23.
The case was originally listed for trial before Grimsby magistrates but he changed his plea to guilty.
He claims that he pushed and shoved the man away during the incident.
Sentence on Smith, of Garland Close, Westfield, Sheffield, was adjourned until October 11.
A decision is expected to be made on whether a football banning order will be imposed.
