Scunthorpe A&E among 95 requiring improvement highlighted by CQC as pressure mounts on NHS



Concerns have been raised about the safety of two-thirds of A&E units across the country putting pressure on the NHS.
A Care Quality Commission review has said that one of the poorest performing parts of the system has been emergency care.
It cited 22 of 184 units being rated as "inadequate" and another 95 as "requiring improvement".
The latest CQC reports have rated Scunthorpe General Hosptial as overall inadequate and the A&E department as requiring improvement.
