Scottish showjumping champ dies after horse riding accident
 

TRIBUTES have been paid to a champion showjumper who has died after a horse-riding accident.
Caroline MacAskill, from Fortrose, Ross-shire, passed away just days before she was due to pick up a league winner’s rosette at the British Showjumping Awards.
Caledonian Riding Club said the 52-year-old housing officer was “a popular and well-known figure” at riding events across Scotland whose “good-humoured enthusiasm for her sport shone through everything she did”.
Caroline, who fell from a horse at Fortrose on September 25, died on Saturday after spending six days in a coma.
