Scots Olympic and Paralympic heroes parade their medals at Edinburgh homecoming



SPORT fans have saluted Scotland’s Olympic and Paralympic heroes at a homecoming ceremony.
Athletes, many wearing newly-won medals around their necks, were cheered in Edinburgh’s Festival Square.
Earlier they were mobbed by children and teens at Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, at Heriot-Watt University.
About 50 Olympic and Paralympic athletes basked in the glory of their record-breaking achievements in Rio.
They included rower Heather Stanning, wheelchair tennis player Gordon Reid, cyclists Callum Skinner and Katie Archibald, and swimmers Scott Quin and Dan Wallace.
