Lithuania. On a plastic pitch. On a Friday night. The doom merchants reckon the stage is set for Scotland to fall.
I can understand the rationale behind that thinking as it’s exactly the type of fixture in which we have slipped up in the past.
It was like the last campaign when the away trip – yes, also on a Friday – to Georgia was identified as the one where it would all go wrong.
People pointed to the defeat in our previous game in Tbilisi which I was involved in which dealt our Euro 2008 hopes a real blow.
