Schoolgirls in court over ‘kidnapping toddler from Primark with intent to commit sex offence’



Two schoolgirls will face court today charged with the kidnapping of a toddler with the intention to commit a sexual offence.
The girls, aged 13 and 14, are accused of taking a two-year-old girl from a branch of Primark in Northumberland Street, Newcastle, last month.
They also face charges of shoplifting dummies, baby milk and a bottle.
The toddler was found an hour and 45 minutes later in a park in Gosforth.
The pair, who will appear at a youth court in North Tyneside, are charged with kidnap ‘with the intention of committing a relevant sexual offence’.
