Schoolgirls hailed heroes after looking after injured pensioner who fell in park
 

A group of schoolgirls have been praised for helping an elderly man who had fallen and hit his head in Salford.
Ellie Brown, 14, Emmie Marie Rose, 15, and Chloe Johnson, 11, were walking home from school through Buile Hill Park when they discovered the injured pensioner.
The Buile Hill Visual Arts College pupils immediately sprung into action, with Year 10 Ellie taking her school jumper from her bag and placing it under the man’s head to make him comfortable, while Emmie rang for an ambulance.
The three friends then waited with the man, thought to be in his 70s, until help arrived.
