School remains in lockdown after man seen with knife in street



A Grimsby school was placed in lockdown today after a man was seen armed with a knife in the street nearby.
Woodlands Primary School confirmed that a member of the public rushed into reception this morning to say they had seen a man with a knife in Sutcliffe Avenue.
The school immediately called 999 and said that police "arrived within minutes".
The school was placed in "lockdown" as a precaution for the safety of the children.
They added that the safety of children was their top concern.
It happened between 8.15am and 8.45am this morning.
