Scarecrows join Barrow harvest festival



Brisbane Park Infant School staged a scarecrow competition for their harvest festival.
The pupils have been reading Julian Donaldson's The Scarecrows' Wedding and this was used as the inspiration for the Barrow school's harvest event.
Children and their parents made a variety of scarecrows and brought them to school. There were 65 entries in the contest.
There were Halloween scarecrows and friendly scarecrows, some made from vegetables and others sewn.
Pupils, parents and staff were invited to vote for their favourite scarecrows. They were entitled to vote by making donations of fresh food... read more
