Sainsbury's axe its Merry Hill supermarket leaving almost 200 jobs at risk
 

The branch, which opened in October 1989, will shut for the final time on December 30, bosses have confirmed.
A Sainsbury’s spokesman said the closure follows ‘a review of its estate’ and staff had been informed.
It comes as the second major jobs blow to the centre in two months, after BHS closed in August with the loss of nearly 100 staff.
The decision to shut the store down has been described as ‘disrepectful’ by a trade union chief, while Brierley Hill ward councillor Rachel Harris said the closure was ‘a shame’.
