'Sadly others are not so fortunate': Guy Opperman opens up about tumour battle five years on
 

An MP has spoken of his “delight” after his latest scan delivered good news - five years after he collapsed in the House of Commons with an undiagnosed brain tumour.
Guy Opperman, MP for Hexham in Northumberland, said he was fortunate as only 20% of those affected by this “neglected” cancer live as long.
The Conservative MP was able to return to Westminster following surgery and a long period of physiotherapy and rehabilitation.
And the results of his latest scan show that, five years on, he is tumour free and with no lasting side-effects.
