Ryder Cup tributes to Arnold Palmer planned as legend of golf is celebrated at Hazeltine

Flags outside the Hazeltine clubhouse were flying at half-mast on Monday in the first tribute to Arnold Palmer, who died on Sunday night aged 87.
At Thursday’s opening ceremony for the Ryder Cup, a video celebrating his life will be played to the crowd, followed by a minute’s silence. Then on Friday, when the action begins, there will be something involving the players on the first tee.
‘We’re still working out the details but it will be something tasteful and very special,’ said PGA of America president Derek Sprague.
