Ryder Cup 2016: Team USA defeat Europe to claim victory for first time in eight years
 

The United States claimed their first Ryder Cup since 2008 after seeing off Europe on a roller coaster final day at Hazeltine.
At the beginning of the last day of the 41st staging of the Ryder Cup, the score stood at 9.5-6.5 to the States which left Europe in need of an epic comeback in the singles.
It was an uphill battle for the visitors but they got off to the perfect start as Henrik Stenson drew first blood when Jordan Spieth gifted him a 3&2 win.
The 23-year-old American touched the ball while it was in the water which meant Stenson was handed the opening point in the singles.
