Team Europe had a much better second half of the day against the United States as they fought back to make it 5-3 in the Friday fourballs.
Rory McIlroy and Thomas Pieters ensured it was a positive end to a difficult day at Hazeltine, with the Brit keeping his composure to put away a neat put at the end.
It wasn’t a great start to the afternoon as Danny Willett was booed by the American fans for his brother’s controversial article before the start of the tournament.
