Ryan Shawcross hailed as one of the best as he prepares for Stoke City landmark

PETER Coates is leading the tributes to Ryan Shawcross as the captain prepares to firm up his position in the Stoke City hall of fame.
Shawcross will become the first Stoke player in almost 30 years – and only the 20th ever – to start 300 league games for the club when he leads the team out against Sunderland next weekend.
Chairman Coates believes the deal to bring in the defender from Manchester United is still proving to be one of the best in Stoke's history.
