Russian athlete Tatyana Lysenko stripped of London 2012 Olympic gold medal for doping 



The International Olympic Committee has stripped hammer thrower Tatyana Lysenko of the gold medal she won at London 2012 as part of its re-testing programme of samples from the 2008 and 2012 Games.
Using the latest detection techniques, a stored urine sample from the 33-year-old Russian tested positive for the anabolic steroid turinabol.
Lysenko, who served a two-year drugs ban between 2007 and 2009, is reported to have failed another test in April this year. A world champion in 2011 and 2013, she now almost certainly faces a lifetime ban.
