Russia demands explanation for bank closure



RUSSIAN broadcaster RT demanded answers from the government yesterday after the NatWest bank decided to close its accounts.
The decision was branded “openly political” by the Russian embassy, which called on the British government to explain the bank’s actions.
An embassy statement linked account closures to the British government, which holds a 73 per cent stake in NatWest parent the Royal Bank of Scotland.
