Russia 2018 chief Alexey Sorokin confident World Cup will go ahead as planned after receiving assurances at Soccerex in Mexico



The head of Russia's 2018 World Cup organising committee Alexey Sorokin says he has been assured by FIFA president Gianni Infantino the tournament will go ahead as planned despite allegations of corruption and doping in athletics. 
Speaking to Sportsmail's Jeff Powell at the Soccerex Americas Forum in Mexico, Sorokin said: 'He (Infantino) received all the guarantees. We have been tolerating all of the allegations but it's getting very tiresome. This matter is now closed.' 
Sorokin also tipped England, France and Argentina to do well in two years' time.
