Rollerblading pensioner in hospital after collapsing while skating



A “legendary” rollerblading pensioner collapsed while performing his freewheeling antics in the city centre.
Geoff Dornan, 79, from Ormskirk, was rushed to hospital after collapsing outside McDonald’s on Lord Street yesterday.
A spokesperson for the Royal confirmed to The ECHO that Mr Dornan is in a stable condition.
Geoff hit the headlines in 2009 after having his rollerskates confiscated by police.
He was handed a £2,000 bill by magistrates for skating in Chapel Street, Southport, after accusations that he was “a hazard” to pedestrians in the town’s centre.
