River Thames to get three new bridges, a new tunnel and ferry crossing
 

Sadiq Khan has given the go ahead for three new river crossings in east London.
The mayor claimed his plans have a ‘greener focus’ and will boost the use of public transport as well as supporting the growth of businesses and new housing.
He announced alterations to the controversial Silvertown Tunnel project, which would connect the Greenwich Peninsula with the Royal Docks via a four-lane road under the Thames.
Mr Khan approved a new cycling and walking bridge linking Rotherhithe and Canary Wharf as well as an extension of the Docklands Light Railway from Gallions Reach towards Thamesmead.... read more
