Rising to any challenge: Inspirational Kev refuses to let disability get him down
 

HIS parents were told he’d never ride a bike or climb trees after being born with no fingers on his left hand – but Kev Shields hasn’t let his disability stop him from becoming a climbing instructor.
Not only did he learn to ride a bike but he’s also excelled at rock and ice climbing and is keen to encourage others to follow their dreams.
Even when he was later diagnosed with epilepsy which wrecked his dream of joining the TA, Kev picked himself back up and has battled back from injury after a bad climbing fall.
