Rising numbers of child neglect reports across Teesside, NSPCC reveals
 

Jon Challicom The number of child neglect reports across Teesside requiring intervention by police or social services rose by almost two thirds in the last three years, the NSPCC has said.
New figures from the charity’s neglect helpline showed 295 calls between 2015/16 in the area needed involvement from police or social services - a 63% rise since the Jimmy Savile scandal first came to light.
In Middlesbrough, 107 contacts were passed on compared to 66 in 2012/13.
