Ripley diesel thief snared by DNA left on rubber pipe
 

A fuel thief was snared when his DNA was found on a rubber pipe used to siphon diesel from the tanks of HGVs.
Darren Cooper had targeted the haulage firm overnight June 10 to 11 attempting to steal 13 containers full of diesel.
But Southern Derbyshire Magistrates' Court was told how he may have been disturbed and the pipe, from which his DNA was gathered was left hanging out of a lorry's fuel tank.
The 50-year-old, of Peasehill, Ripley, was arrested, charged and pleaded guilty to the charge.
