Review: Pride And Prejudice at the Churchill Theatre
 

Adapter Simon Reade has been faithful to Austen’s social comedy, while giving it a theatrical topspin. The play is elegant, amusing and heartfelt, with a beautifully designed set of decorous wrought iron which revolves to accommodate the houses of the various characters and with props and chairs brought on to indicate the different social classes.
The cast is immaculate from Tafline Steen leading the charge as Elizabeth Bennet like a young Helena Bonham Carter to Benjamin Dilloway as a perfect Mr Darcy striking all the right notes of hauteur and indifference. Matthew Kelly adds another... read more
