Review into sale of Acklam Hall shows council has so far received fraction of its value
 

A review into the sale of Acklam Hall has revealed the council has so far only received a fraction of its value.
Middlesbrough Council sold the town’s only Grade I listed building and its land two years ago for £907,000.
The sale price was less than half the £2m fee initially agreed, an independent review has also confirmed.
Auditors said the council has received a £120,358 deposit for the Hall Drive site.
The report by Tees Valley Audit and Assurance Service said: “This is the only receipt to date with no other monies having yet been received by the council.”
