The Coundersport Ice Mine in Pennsylvania has left people scratching their heads with its ability to only ever produce ice in the summer.
At 40ft deep, the bottom of this chasm is just layers of ice.
And from the side of this pit, are icicles hanging at 25ft long and three feet thick.
But when winter approaches, this all melts away.
The ice starts to form in the spring and it is by far one of the most puzzling geological anomalies.
Especially as unlike other natural ice mines, at Coudersport, the hotter the weather the more ice there is.
