Revealed: The number of deaths after West Midlands Police contact



More than 15 people have died in the past year after coming into contact with the West Midlands Police.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) reports that 16 people died following police contact between 1 April 2016 and 31 March 2017 in West MIdlands police force area.
This count includes one death where injuries that contributed to the death happened during the period of detention or on the way to the hospital.
