Revealed: Reasons behind Coventry's missed bin chaos



Complaints about missed bin collections are up by 83 per cent as the council struggles with staff shortages, it has been revealed.
The figures come as Coventry City Council prepares to move to fortnightly household waste collections in September, to save around £1million from its annual budget.
Thousands of homes have suffered missed bin collections in recent weeks and the problems have been put down to issues with reduced staffing as a result of redundancies and not filling vacancies in preparation for the new collection system.
