REVEALED: Physiotherapy boost could 'prevent hundreds of deaths' following hip fractures
 

The modelling, based on demographic data and the latest research, shows what impact physio-led falls prevention services could have in every area of the UK.
For example, offering access to one of these services to everyone judged at risk in Bristol would prevent 816 falls and save £1.3m.             
One-third of people who suffer a hip fracture die within a year and falls are the leading cause of accident-related mortality in older people.
In addition to the human cost, falls account for £1.7 billion of the NHS budget each year, according to the CSP.
