Residents still in shock at armed siege in leafy cul-de-sac



NEIGHBOURS in Grimsby's normally-peaceful Portland Place were today still reeling from the shock of an armed siege in their street.
Many described their shock and their frustration at being "imprisoned" in their own homes while armed officers trained their rifles on a home where a woman had barricaded herself in and refused to surrender.
Residents said it had "cast a shadow" over the neighbourhood.
One claimed the incident could affect house prices.
As reported, the 36-year-old woman, who has not been named, was at the centre of the siege for four hours.
