Residents must pay £18-a-year to park in Abbey Hulton street



RESIDENTS are having to pay £18-a-year to park outside their own homes.
The charge has been introduced in part of Woodhead Road, Abbey Hulton, after residents complained about parking problems in their street.
The 'nightmare' situation gets worse when parents are taking their children to and from Carmountside Primary Academy.
Now Stoke-on-Trent City Council has introduced the residents'-only parking permits following a consultation. It sees residents pay £18-a-year for each permit and visitors £25-a-year.
The charge has divided residents, with some branding it a 'waste of money'.
